December 16th 2005 was the first day of operation of our new mobile service: SnowSpy.
SnowSpy is dedicated to snowboarding, skiing and surfing enthusiasts - keeping them in touch with their favourite locations.
It brings the slopes to their mobile phones, with webcams from most of Europe's ski resorts, supported by information on snow conditions and high-altitude weather forecasts. It also helps them with Powder-alarms when resorts see heavy snowfalls and peer ratings of off-piste skiing and après-ski.
The service is currently available to O2 I-mode customers in the UK. Full access to the content will only be available to subscribers, for only £1.50 per month.
At the end of the winter season we will refresh the service with surfing and windsurfing content, in order to keep our audience entertained over the warmer season.
The service will mirror its winter counterpart by featuring beach webcams from popular European locations and providing wind & wave forecast information.
SnowSpy is the result of a partnership between Future Platforms and pan-European web portal Skiinfo.
Future Platforms have an exclusive distribution license for Skiinfo's mobile content to UK operators
and I-mode partners across Europe.
