Access to CCTV systems via mobile phones is no longer "coming soon". We have just delivered a fully functional prototype for Overview Limited, a British company specialised in the design and manufacture of CCTV systems.

Overview have designed a compact digital CCTV camera integrated with a small and robust web server. The server can be accessed through a web browser or via Future Platforms' on-phone Java application.

The on-phone application allows users to play the last few seconds of video recorded by their remote camera or view significant images and videos that the system has recorded. Overviews software can detect movement in user-defined areas of the screen - for instance the front door of your home or the till in a shop - and display only relevant frames of footage.

The result is a simple on-phone application that provides immediate access to live and recorded CCTV material with little browsing and no time wasted.
