9th January, 2008: Future Platforms provides Heinemann with the right answer
Leading educational publisher, Heinemann, has partnered with Future Platforms and today launches a mobile GCSE revision tool for 4-Speed Revision Guides for Edexcel GCSE maths. The mobile design and development consultancy, Future Platforms, managed the production of Heinemann's mobile revision tool.
The downloadable revision tool takes Heinemann's brand to the mobile platform for the first time. Future Platforms handled the end-to-end design and development process for Heinemann, including interaction design, visual design, development and porting.
The application tests students through Heinemann's large collection of syllabus questions and answers and logs their scores to help them track their progress. The revision tool provides users with both text and picture format questions and is compatible with a wide range of handsets.
Michael Cotter, head of secondary maths, history and geography publishing at Heinemann, says: "Our experience of working with Future Platforms has been excellent. The team's effort and expertise has produced a product that is both original and on deadline. We hope to expand the revision tool across a full portfolio of subjects."
Sergio Falletti, Commercial Director at Future Platforms, added: "Our experience of working with print publishers means we understand the challenge of developing effective products for the new mobile channels. Heinemann's innovative product is a great demonstration of how mobile applications offer an engaging way for publishers to expand their business."
