Just before Christmas we quietly started selling a mobile game for TV production agency Darrall Macqueen.
The game, Bunny Run, was developed by Darrall Macqueen to tie in with their Play The Game series, currently showing on Childrens ITV. We built a service which distributes and bills for a number of versions of Bunny Run. Visitors to PlayTheGame.tv send in a text message containing the keyword BUNNY, and immediately receive back the right version of the game for their phone.
Because the service is targeting children we bill according to ICSTIS guidelines, and only when a game has been successfully delivered to the handset - unlike some of the less scrupulous companies out there today. If we can't find a version of the game for a given handset, we let the customer know, politely, and they're not charged.
The system also keeps in-depth accounting records, allows the adding of new games, or new game versions, at any time in the future, and produces bespoke reports on sales, requests and attempted downloads. We think it's rather swanky...
"The team at Future Platforms have proved extremely helpful and
knowledgeable, providing us with a complete solution for delivering our game Bunny Run
to viewers. The whole system is managed via a web-based interface giving us complete
control over games, present and future, as well as up to the minute information on our
games' performance."
