Clients > BBC > BIG Night Out for Children in Need

"It's been a very tight schedule but I really appreciate the work you've put in and how you've responded. Look forward to many more."
- Geoff Lowe, FilmServe

We provided the technology behind the BBC BIG Night Out event, held this evening at the London School of Economics in aid of Children in Need. Digital film specialists FilmServe contracted us to provide a batch of mobile interactivity which was run over the course of the evening.

Our involvement included:

  • A chat-room, together with registration facility and swear filter, which was distributed throughout the venue on plasma screens and a projection screen. Attendees participated by firing text messages in to a widely advertised number.

  • A suite of multiple choice competitions, advertised through imagery and with prizes donated by the BBC and other Children in Need sponsors.

  • A picture messaging facility, where attendees could MMS in photos which were displayed on the big screen. Later in the evening a vote was run, letting the audience vote for their favourite picture of the night.

We also had staff standing by on the night of the event to manage the various attractions we were providing, and ensure everything went smoothly - which it did.

"Future Platforms put together a comprehensive package of interactivity in a very short space of time and responded well to a proposition that kept evolving.

Their flexibility, both before and during the event, ensured that this element of the night was a great success and offered an interesting and novel experience for the guests.
"
