How to get here
Our offices are at the top of a renovated coach house in the heart of Brighton’s North Laine. The easiest way of getting here from outside Brighton is by rail. The station is just a five minute walk away.
If you are coming into Brighton by car, follow the A23 right into the town centre and navigate your way to Trafalgar Street, where you will find a car park off Whitecross Street to your right.
Careers
You:
- Smart, motivated, individual software engineer;
- Good communication skills;
- Mobile experience desirable but not necessary;
- A genuine enthusiasm for the software you write, and interest in computing;
- Educated, preferably with a degree in Computer Science or something that demonstrates clear thinking and great problem solving;
If you’ve found this from a keyword search, you’re probably interested in iPhone, Android, Java, and J2ME. We also like the Groovy and Python.
Us:
We design, build and launch software products for mobile phones.
We have a particular track record both in large-scale social software services, and what we call “social toys”: apps which use playfulness and social principles to become more attractive, engaging and enjoyable.
Our clients come in big and small sizes, some of whom you’ll have heard of, some you won’t. The ones we can mention include: Microsoft, Hasbro, Nokia, Orange, the BBC, and Channel 4.
We don’t ask you to have x years of experience of y technology. Some of the technology we work with isn’t even out yet. A willingness to push yourself and curiosity for the new is much more valuable.
We’ve learned from experience that keeping developers calm and happy pays dividends in the long run; so here are some of the things we can offer the successful candidates:
- Interesting projects, with some of latest consumer technology available
- We practice Scrum, and we’ve got the whole company doing it too
- A generous holiday allowance
- Choose your own computer. Most have laptops; we’re fairly evenly split between OSX and Windows, but we do have at least one Linux user
- Market rate, or better, based on experience
- Smart and experienced colleagues. We win awards
- We’re based in Brighton but our sister agency Vexed Digital is based in London and we occasionally work there with them.
We will read your CV, and your cover letter. If you get an interview, we will grill you. If you’re up for it, it’ll be fun. If that hasn’t put you off, we’re really interested in hearing from you.
Please send CVs and a covering note to careers@vexeddigital.com
Strictly no agencies please. Honestly: if you’re an agency, please don’t contact us.
