We were hired in December 2010 to build an iPhone app which would support delegates of the World Economic Forum, held in Davos in January 2011. The app drew together thrice-daily video shows, a CNBC Twitter feed, data and maps on local bars and restaurants, news stories, and a guide to sponsor-provided fringe events running throughout the Forum. CNBC promoted the app on-site and on-air, and monetised it through sponsorship from Aviva.
We kicked off the project with a concepting workshop, undertook all mobile design and development, built a CMS for the product, and integrated with Twitter, the CNBC editorial team and back-end data services.
